Andy warhol marilyn11/18/2023 He seemed shy and it took a bit of coaxing before he showed us everything, and we bought several pieces that day. Andy himself was the only low key note in the Studio. Andy had two stereo machines running at high pitch, one playing Bach, the other Rock. His house was opposite a supermarket, and the soup cans were quite visible from his front entrance. I think it was Ivan Karp who urged us to go to Warhol's house on Lexington Avenue. 'We bought the picture directly from Andy Warhol at his Studio, before he had a dealer. Mrs Burton Tremaine, who with her husband bought it from him in 1962, soon after it was completed, recalls: The present work, which consists of two panels, the left-hand one in colour and the right-hand in black and white, each panel with twenty-five images in five rows, is the largest of his early paintings of her and is usually regarded as the culmination of the series. Some are in colour and some just in black and white. Between then and the end of the year he made at least twenty-three paintings of her using a silkscreen technique, all based on the same photograph, a 20th Century Fox still taken by Gene Kornman as publicity for the film Niagara of 1953. Marilyn Monroe died tragically from an overdose of sleeping pills on 5 August 1962, the same month that Warhol started doing silkscreens. Timeless tv show reviews11/18/2023 This is obviously going to be picked up on next season. Doctor Who has ignored revelations this big before (indeed, it’s difficult to see how “half human on my mother’s side” could possibly be true now, despite apparently being confirmed by Hell Bent, which, to be fair, it remains unclear whether Chibnall has actually seen), but that was aided by nine years off the air and a revival that spent a few years being deathly allergic to continuity. Is there a way back from this? It’s honestly tough to say. Big revelations about lore that come down to “the fan favorite bits are absolutely the most important things in the series and we promise to never actually challenge or disrupt you in any way.” Finally, we can all see what The Rise of Skywalker would have looked like on a shitty BBC budget. No other message or insight into the world. Just come back.” There’s nothing else here. I’ll bring back the block-headed Cybermen. Now we have our answer: Series 12 of Doctor Who is a lengthy missive to Ian Levine, groveling at his feet and begging him to come back. Throughout the series I’ve been asking who this is for. The only characters with motivation are the Master and the Cybermen, whose motivation consists of a tattered post-it note saying “be evil.” Macguffins are simply vomited forth out of the ruins of Gallifrey whenever called for, most trashily as the Master casually goes “oh, but I kept all the bodies around.” A key piece of information is delivered to the Doctor in the form of “handily, there’s a legend that addresses the specific thing you’re wondering about.” The specific thing she’s wondering about, incidentally, is actually called the “death particle.” You may want to head back to the mirror and tell yourself that with a straight face too. The companions have nothing to do but make tepid contributions to the tedious action sequences that fill the gaps between the equally tedious infodumps. Then, for a resolution, a character whose narrative importance after two episodes consists of “he’s played by a guy who was a minor character in Game of Thrones ” swoops in to save the day. It’ll be a good, healing experience.Īs for the episode around it… it’s tempting to just derisively laugh and say “what episode around it.” The Doctor stands around for forty-five minutes while men explain the plot to her. Repeat until you can do it with conviction, without bursting out laughing. Walk up to your bathroom mirror and look yourself in the eyes as you deliver those exact words in an even and calm tone. The Shabogans are the indigenous people of Gallifrey who became the Time Lords by stealing the secrets of regeneration from the Doctor’s DNA. It’s worth actually explaining the reveal out loud with words, so as to actually make your mind confront what happened here. It’s as if the Cartmel Masterplan fucked the Leekley Bible and then gave the illegitimate child away to Ian Levine to foster.Īstonishingly, though, none of that actually captures how bad it is. It’s not the Other but the Doctor themself that’s at the heart of Gallifreyan history now. It’s genuinely terrible-a reveal that takes the dumbest instincts of the Virgin era and strips off the brakes and hedges. The series is now committed to an endless parade of reveals about the secret history of Gallifrey, all of which the Doctor was apparently there for. Instead of being the schlubby mediocrity who ran away and stumbled through becoming a hero without ever realizing that was what they were working towards, the Doctor is now the Most Specialist Time Lord That Ever Did Time Lord, with magic powers above and beyond the other Time Lords and origins stretching back beyond even the days of Rassilon. Making the Doctor the secret origin of all of the Time Lords is absolutely appalling-the sort of “the main character must be the center of the mythology” crap that Doctor Who is historically at its best when it rebels against. I suppose there’s nowhere to begin other than the big reveal, given that it is by an outlandish margin the single worst lore reveal in the entire history of Doctor Who. Ark egg incubator stats explained11/18/2023 If you have 150 levels in useless stats, you just lost 150 possible points, so you want to reduce those to make room for the important stats. On official, the max level is 450, and there is a stat cap of 255 for an individual stat. You are quite literally minimizing your useless stats while maximizing your useful stats. The process of min-maxing is simple, but time consuming. I will be explaining using the point system, so if you skipped over it, you may want to read the section on that. Now for the bread and butter of the breeding system. Note: This is not a guaranteed chance, so you may need to breed several babies to get the stat you want.Īlright. For example, if you have a Male Rex with 37 points in HP and 24 points in Melee, and a Female Rex with 31 points in HP and 45 points in Melee, you can breed them together and you have a 55% chance for each stat to roll in favor of the higher stat on the babies to get the 37 HP AND 45 Melee. Not only do you get that stat increase, but when you ride a dino that YOU are imprinted to, it gains 30% extra damage and 30% damage resistance. This bonus increases the dino’s stats by 20% with 100% imprinting (assuming vanilla settings). Raising a baby lets you get an imprint bonus. However the reasons for breeding goes deeper than just getting more dinos. You find a male and female of a dino, breed them, and get babies. My binocular mod is incorrectly showing the damage percentage) BREEDING (Ignore the 82% damage and note the 37 points. Below I have a screenshot of the Giga’s stats once it tamed. It is SUPER important to remember that the highest stats have a higher chance of getting more points added to that stat. So on a 150, that comes out to 224 with kibble taming, meaning there are 74 more points that will randomly allocate. Once I tame it, the stat points will increase randomly by the amount of levels it gains. All other stats have such minor increases with tamed levels that it does not make a difference. On a Giga, the only stat that matters is Melee. So as you can see, this Giga is pretty exceptional. Tamed dinos have a different point system that we will cover a little later. NOTE: Dododex stat calculator is for wild stats ONLY. If you add up all of the points, that equals 149 (+1=150 because level 1 doesn’t have stats) The reason I love using Dododex is that I can pull up the app on my phone and quickly input stats as I’m looking at the dino. I input the wild dino’s stats and you an see just to the right, it says how many points are in each stat. The picture below is a wild 150 Giga that I knocked out. The easiest way to see and understand this is on Dododex. This is the allocation to each stat from its current level. This extensive guide will include everything from searching for stats, explanation on the point system, min-maxing your dinos, how to properly breed and stack mutations, and probably more! So sit tight and enjoy! STAT POINT SYSTEMĪll stats in ARK are based around a point system. Why am I making this guide? Because you can go past 20/20 mutations legitimately and breed literal super dinos. The mutation system in ARK is incredibly confusing to an unexperienced breeder, and from my experience and others, it takes time, knowing the proper techniques, and sometimes it just “clicks” for some people after a certain point. I have been a “professional” ARK breeder for quite some time now and I would like to share and explain proper breeding techniques. Hello!
